Answer to being fit, whole, healthy and happy for a lifetime

Literally, every “body” is different.  We are made up of where we came from, our parents, and those genetics play a major role in how our bodies respond to food and exercise.  So finding what works for you personally is always going to be step one.  But the simple answer to being fit, whole, healthy and happy for a lifetime comes right down to self motivation.  Just like anything in life that you want for yourself it takes commitment and dedication to get it accomplished.  No one else is going to do it for you, if you want to look your best it takes effort.  The only difference when it comes to health is making that decision for yourself and sticking to it for a lifetime.

It’s common sense that when you eat healthy foods and move your body through exercise your shape will change.  But how do you get started in doing this when you are overweight and unhealthy?  While reading this today, make the decision that you have had enough and would rather spend the rest of your life feeling good about yourself rather than unhappy.  That truly is the hardest part of change, making the decision to do so.

Don’t ever feel like you have to join a gym or sign up for Weight Watchers to change your life and your body.  I have exercised for over 2 decades and have been to a gym only a handful of times.  There are so many fantastic and even better ways to exercise at home, it takes less time out of your day and is much more affordable.

Some of my favorite workouts at home are Personal Training with Jackie Warner Xtreme Timesaver, Extreme Shed and Shred with Jillian Michaels, and Jennifer Aniston’s yoga workout Yogalosophy with Mandy Ingber.  These 3 workouts alone are the perfect combination of cardiovascular exercise, weight training and body sculpting that you can easily do at home.

Eating healthy is about filling your frig with whole nutritious foods and getting rid of anything but.  If you feel that you are in a position where you need to jump start your weight loss through an outside force, by all means do it.  But remember, diets and special programs are not a lifestyle choice, ultimately you will have to make decisions for yourself each and every day.
