Believe it or not, who you surround yourself with has a direct affect on your health. This is because each person we choose to spend time with influences our life, sometimes in fabulous ways, and sometimes not so fabulous. Choose your friends wisely because your health depends on it, here why.
Energies are contagious.
You can almost always feel someone’s energy as soon as they walk into a room. Just by looking at someone, you can tell how that person is feeling. Whether you’re greeted by a happy smile or a sad depressing look, be aware of that energy because it can have a direct affect on your well-being. Sure, everybody goes through their ups and downs, but making the effort to ensure you are not surrounding yourself with the opposite of how you want to feel on a daily basis is essential to your health.
Take notice of encouragers.
No one intends to be unsupportive, at least that’s what I choose to believe, it’s just not everyone’s priorities match up, and that’s ok. But, when you are spending time with someone who is consistently discouraging you from what’s important to you, it can be a downer and very draining. One of the most important aspects of friendship is being an encouraging supportive force for whatever your friend might be going through, and you deserve the exact same in return.
Align yourself carefully.
It’s wise to pay attention and carefully align ourselves with those on the same path, or at least an interest in pursuing the same path. Be friends with everyone, of course, but consider keeping your close inner circle for those you share the most in common with, such as the pursuit of healthy-living. Having this sort of small army of friends who band together to set out to achieve some the same goals and accomplishments is one of the best things in life.
