Top 46 Life Lessons On My Birthday

Today, I’m so proud to share with you that I turn the big 4-6! How lucky am I to have all of these incredible healthy years under my belt? I’ve learned so much from my own life experiences, while also watching my friends and family very closely over these 46 years, taking detailed notes every step of the way and learning valuable lessons. So I thought there’s no better time to reflect and share my top 46 life lessons with the hope that you can take away something positive and apply it to your own life to better your chances of having a happy everyday!

  1. Take your time with everything (most especially love, this has served me well).
  2. Speak up, share your feelings, especially when they’re hurt.
  3. Health is wealth because nothing else matters without it.
  4. Your power is you because there’s only one you; which makes you pretty darn special.
  5. Don’t respond to anyone when you’re angry, take a minute, or two, or three.
  6. Move your body in some way, everyday.
  7. Eat the cake!
  8. Do a good deed as often as you can, it will make you feel wonderful.
  9. Spend time with women (or men) who inspire you.
  10. Travel, anywhere.
  11. Try something new every week, it doesn’t matter what it is.
  12. Accept what occurs and then adjust accordingly.
  13. Ask questions, lots of them.
  14. Be grateful for what you have versus what you don’t.
  15. Trust the timing on everything.
  16. Nothing will make you happy until you are happy with yourself, period.
  17. Everything happens for a very good reason, it just may take a moment to realize what it is.
  18. Be as loyal as a dog, always have your friend’s back even when you don’t agree with them.
  19. Comparison is the thief of joy!
  20. Love yourself enough to know that people are lucky to have you.
  21. A man should compliment your life, not add stress.
  22. If you are unhappy about something, change it.
  23. Energies are contagious.
  24. The little things in life are the really BIG things.
  25. Go to the ocean at least once per year, more if you’re able.
  26. Keep your tribe small.
  27. Be reliable.
  28. Know that if they are gossiping about others, they are gossiping about you.
  29. Stop what you’re doing to watch the rain fall and breathe it in.
  30. 95% of what we worry about never happens.
  31. Let your past make you better, not bitter.
  32. Everything in moderation.
  33. Make a really good meal at least once a week and appreciate every ingredient.
  34. Take time to be alone.
  35. Try yoga, you’ll love it, here are my favorite yoga workouts.
  36. Crack a joke as often as you can
  37. Don’t take life so seriously.
  38. Do something special for yourself often.
  39. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
  40. Be brutally honest, people need to hear the truth.
  41. Stop trying to be perfect, nobody is.
  42. Before you judge, try to understand.
  43. Don’t feel sorry for yourself, it’s annoying.
  44. Eat! It’s one of the best things in life!!
  45. Stop complaining, nobody cares.
  46. Age is truly just a number!!!
