How To Make Best Low Fat Healthy Pita Chips

I have made the mistake of buying those ready made bagged pita chips at the grocery store.  They taste good and are generally lower in fat than tortilla chips, but they are full of salt and will bloat you beyond belief.  So I decided to make my own and you will not believe how simple it is to make low fat healthy pita chips.

Here is what you will need:

1. One bag of pocket pitas (personally, I like the high omega-3, low fat, low carb type that is now available everywhere).

2. Salt & Pepper

3. Olive oil or canola oil spray

Set the oven to 375 degrees.  Layer 1/2 of the pitas on a cutting board and with a large chef knife, chop into 8 sections of triangles and do the same with the other 1/2.  Lay them out into one layer on a large cookie sheet, lightly spray the oil over the top, salt & pepper. Bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes or until crispy and browned.  They are delightfully delicious and healthy.  They are perfectly paired with the absolute best low fat spinach artichoke dip that I shared with you here.  Enjoy!
