Jillian Michaels Extreme Shed and Shred Review


I literally just finished these workouts a minute ago and had to jump on my laptop to share my honest opinion of Jillian Michaels Extreme Shed and Shred with a full review.  I have already shared this workout as one of my top 3 ways to get in the best shape fast here, but after just wiping the sweat from my brow, I feel this routine deserves more than just a few sentences.

I am very thankful for Jillian Michaels, without her I would not have many of the muscles on my body that I am proud of today.  Her workouts are tough and intense, but also effective and efficient because she takes our time and life into consideration when she choreographs each exercise.  She wants us to get the best workout possible in the least amount of time.  So for those of you who say that you don’t have time to workout, pick up this dvd and give it a try, you won’t believe how quickly your body will change with only having to give about 30 minutes of your day to yourself.

Jillian Michaels Extreme Shed and Shred contains two extremely effective 30 minute total body workouts (45 minutes including warm up and cool down) that blast fat instantly while helping you drop pounds fast.  The dvd is designed so you can do both workouts at one time or you can break them up into two 30 minute sessions.  Each workout starts with a warm up that is about 7 minutes in length and then dives right into a full 30 minutes of everything from kickboxing to cardio to Jiu-Jitsu, Yoga and weight training.  She works every muscle in your body including abdominal, butt, thighs, arms and back through balance exercises, jumps and butt kicks.  The best part about this workout is for it’s everybody because Jillian offers a range of difficulty levels from intermediate to advanced while also offering ways to modify for the beginner or make it more difficult for the athlete who is looking for a serious challenge.

All you will need is a yoga mat and a set of weights (3lbs, 5lbs and maybe even 8lbs), depending on how tough you want the exercises to be.  The beauty of a workout like this is you can continuously challenge yourself every single time you do it.  You will never plateau because you can add heavier weights in addition to adding the more advanced moves that Jillian offers to you.

Personally, I tend to get very bored with exercise, I will even find myself yawning at times if the workout is predictable.  Extreme Shed and Shred is the complete opposite of predictable because you go from kickboxing to side plank to cardio moves so quickly that you don’t have time to think which make it fun and therefore, time flies by extremely fast.  Another bonus is that you can really feel the benefits and the muscles being challenged during each and every exercise as you are performing them.  Nothing is better than feeling the change while you are exercising where usually we only feel the pain when it takes effect the next day.
