Is it bad to eat junk every once in a while?

Errands, soccer practice, work, school, chores and on top of all of that everybody is hungry.  If this sounds familiar to you, you’re not alone.  Every busy household faces the dreaded question of the day, “what are we going to eat”?  And with that comes the convenience of junk and fast food.  So is it bad to eat junk or fast food every once in a while?

The short answer is yes, you really should never eat fast food and here’s why.  The truth is every meal counts when it comes to your health.  One meal at McDonalds isn’t going to kill you but it will have a negative effect on your body.  Did you know that after eating a meal full of fat and calories, like a Big Mac and fries, significantly restricts the blood flow in your arteries for 2-4 hours afterwards?  Crazy, huh?  Learn what eating junk food does to your body here.

The problem is Americans tend to eat junk fast food more often than not and repeating this pattern of eating is the reason we currently have an epidemic of heart disease, obesity and diabetes in our country.  Convenience and saturated fat are literally killing us.  The answer to living a healthy life is just about being more mindful of what we’re eating.  Learn what eating healthy really means here.

Being aware of this and taking the steps to change your eating habits can have an immediate affect on your health and can actually reverse it in a positive way.  Rather than eating junk food full of saturated fats swap them out for healthy fats and whole foods such as olive oils, almonds and avocado just to name a few.   If you’re looking to lose weight learn what one thing you should cut from your diet today here.
