What is bloating?  Are you bloated or is it stomach fat?  If you don’t know, it’s time to do the Dr. Oz jean test.  Here’s how it works.  If the same jeans that fit you in the morning do not fit you that night then you are suffering from bloat, not fat.  Your bloated belly may not be coming from eating too much, but instead from little known things.

Did you know that a woman’s colon is 5 inches longer than a males?  Not only does it take longer for us to digest foods because of the additional length, but also our colons are curvier with more turns and twists making it that more difficult to pass food.

On top of all of that, I learned yesterday that there are numerous things that we are doing, eating and drinking that are causing us to be more bloated than ever.  How to stop bloating?  Here’s 3 of things you’re unknowingly doing that can cause a bloated abdomen.

1. Chewing gum.  Yes, it’s true, chewing gum causes bloat.  It actually can cause you to go up 2 dress sizes.  So skip the gum.  Not only will it affect the way you look and feel, it’s not fun to be around somebody chomping on gum.

2. Talking on the phone.  With cell phones playing such a huge role in people’s lives nowadays no wonder we’re more bloated than ever.  It’s all about the air.  With every word spoken, you are taking in air that in addition to everything you’ve eaten, causes additional bloat.  So put the phone down, it’s better for your health.

3. Drinking diet sports drinks.  So many women think that they’re doing something good for their bodies when they drink an energy or sports drink after working out, when in reality they are only causing more bloat.  While trying to get slimmer, they’re actually getting a bigger waistline.  Instead, drink water or non-fat coconut water.
