In The Body Book: The Law of Hunger, The Science of Strength and Other Ways to Love Your Amazing Body’, Cameron Diaz shares, “If you are what you eat, I was a bean burrito with extra cheese and extra sauce, no onions. Eating fast food was a habit.  I didn’t think I needed to change the way I ate because everyone told me, ‘You are so skinny. You can eat whatever you want.’ But I felt sick in my own body.”

And that was certainly confirmed when Diaz’s poor eating habits led to severe acne that embarrassed her horribly.  So she decided to do something about it.  And it was simply amazing, as soon as she started to eat healthy foods, the acne cleared up.  Diaz realized that she needed to change her ways with food for good and now she’s sharing all of that knowledge in ‘The Body Book’.

Diaz recently told USA Today, “Our body is like an engine with a series of tubes and hoses. I didn’t want to get to a place in my life where I need to replace a hose. I figured out how to make the best version of foods that I love.”  She sticks to a whole foods diet while allowing herself to indulge.  She’ll occasionally even have a “cheeseburger from a place where I feel the ingredients are good quality.”

On a personal note, I like this book.  ‘The Body Book’ is different from others because it just doesn’t talk about what you should do when it comes to eating and being healthy, it educates you on the why by explaining what food does once it’s inside of your body.  I also like it because Diaz was adamant that this book be about women as a whole, not just about her.

Check out ‘The Body Book: The Law of Hunger, the Science of Strength, and Other Ways to Love Your Amazing Body’ here, it’s certainly worth a peek.
