3 Small smart steps to a healthy relationship

Although we hope and sometimes immediately expect results in whatever we might be working for, the fact is, nothing happens overnight. Whether it be a relationship or better health, patience is everything, especially if you want to be successful. Along the way, I’ve learned that rushing through to get to where you want to be faster, almost always causes immense frustration and ultimate failure. Instead, what’s been proven to work are small smart steps is the only way to success, especially with your relationships.

You attract what you put out into the universe.

Because your health and your relationships go hand in hand, it’s important to be aware of what you are attracting into your life just by what you show the world and the choices you make. Have you heard of the law of attraction; change your thoughts, change your world? For instance, if you’re going to dinner at McDonald’s versus shopping for fresh vegetables at a farmers market and cooking a healthy meal at home, that’s going to have a direct affect on your mind and body. Your choices in how you live your life affect how you feel, carry yourself and who you’ll attract. If you’re feeling down, work on yourself first before starting a new relationship; being 100% with who you are will enable you to have much higher standards and accept nothing less than what you deserve.

Don’t give or expect too much too soon.

This for me is #1 priority in any relationship, whether it be a friendship or romantic connection. Of course, be yourself, but also be very careful not to divulge or share too much too soon. Be patient. There’s nothing scarier than when someone tells you that they are in love you when they just met you. Love, trust and loyalty take time to build; there is no fast track. If you have someone like this in your life, be wary, their own personal issues could be playing a role in what seems too good to be true, because it probably is. Ultimately, successful, long-term relationships are the most important thing in our lives, so treat them with respect, take your time in giving of yourself and everything will fall into place if it’s meant to be.

Be honest.

When it comes to transforming your health, your body will respond with even the smallest steps. The same goes for your mental health. When you make the decision to stop the charades and be 100% honest with yourself and within your relationships, you will experience the deepest, most incredible closeness you’ve ever felt before. When you are in a healthy mindset and aren’t afraid to be honest with your expectations, every connection in your life will benefit greatly. Setting a healthy tone and maintaining it within your relationships is vital for success. Don’t be afraid to be open and honest because without those qualities a healthy relationship is simply impossible.
