About Skinny Healthy Girl

For as long as I can remember, I’ve struggled with body image. I used to see every single flaw (or what I believed to be flaws) and kind of obsessed over them. Like many women, I fell victim to the magazine covers, constantly comparing myself to retouched photos, believing those pictures was how I was supposed to look. Sometimes I would exercise too much or not eat anything that contained even one gram of fat, while trying to change how my body looked to the outside world. All of those years ago, I was just skinny, and as much as I thought I looked good at the time, there was nothing attractive about my body, or my mind for that matter. I was lost.

At my lowest point, I was 113 pounds standing at 5 foot 8 inches tall with no muscle tone or shape, I truly was just a SKINNY GIRL wearing a size zero.  It wasn’t until my mid 20’s that I had an epiphany; a moment where I suddenly saw myself in a new, very clear HEALTHY way. I had always prided myself in being a truthful, authentic woman to everyone in my life, but I realized that I wasn’t being true or authentic to myself. It was time to shed those beliefs of what I thought I should be, and instead be me. That day, I made the decision to stop the insanity and to start to live a life of balance rather than trying to be someone else.

As a former skinny girl who’s now striving to be healthy in every way possible, I’ve created this interactive space where we all can share, inspire and empower each other to achieve better health and well-being for life.

I’ve never felt more confident in how I look, but more importantly I’ve never been happier with who I am. I exercise in moderation, cook and eat the most delicious healthy foods, meditate, and have even introduced yoga into my routine; which completely changed my outlook on life. And after countless years of being asked advice about what I do to stay fit, I decided to put it all into one special space and appropriately call it Skinny Healthy Girl.

Health & wellness are my passions and with 30 years of exercise under my belt, I’m sharing the best workouts that I love with all of you. I also LOVE food (who doesn’t?), I love to eat and I love to cook. In addition, I’ll also be posting the foods that I eat, recipes I’ve created and the latest food news that we all should know. On top of all of that, wellness is also an extremely important and essential component to living a healthy lifestyle, so we’ll delve into learning all about how to have and maintain healthy relationships with ourselves and others.

I am passionate in my belief that women can conquer all, but a strong woman in mind and body can take over the world. Believing in yourself is the first step to success in anything that you do.  Partner with me, communicate your thoughts by providing feedback and let’s all find our best selves for life.  Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me, I can’t wait to learn all about you. xo
